About Us

Studio Allen Architects is a full-service residential architecture firm that specializes in high-end new home designs, home renovations, and historic home rehabilitations, renovations, and restorations.

We approach each project as a collaboration with our clients: you share your lifestyle wants and needs with us, and we translate them into beautiful, comfortable, and functional living spaces that are tailor-made to you. As we like to say, “We don’t design houses; we design homes.”

Carol Chacon Allen, AIA, Principal

Carol Chacon Allen, a licensed Architect in the state of California. She founded Studio Allen Architects to provide bespoke home design services to clients in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. 

As an experienced residential designer and renovator of her own historic home, Carol intimately understands homeowners’ wants and needs and how to make them a reality. Her comprehensive, personalized approach encourages client collaboration at each stage of the design and ensures that every Studio Allen Architects-designed home is a true reflection of the people who live in it. 

Before forming Studio Allen Architects, Carol designed and project-managed numerous high-end homes throughout the region. The diversity and high quality of her work cemented Carol’s industry reputation as a thoughtful, skilled, and versatile residential designer.

In addition to helming her home design practice, Carol is an AIA member, is the CD 10 appointed member of the Western Heights HPOZ, a member of the Friends of the Gamble House, and has a Certificate in Classical Architecture from the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art Southern California Chapter. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Southern California and is a past awardee of the Gamble House’s Scholars-In-Residence Fellowship.

Carol lives in Historic West Adams with her husband, Jarod, and their fur babies, Guapo, Macho, Rocco, Chiquita, and Ingo. 

Guapo Allen, Senior Barkitect

An expert in creature comforts, Guapo helps us design custom homes that function uniquely for your pack. He has an uncanny knack for sniffing out the best paths to a kitchen and finding the coziest spots for a nap in any room. Guapo is also proficient in Ruffit, PawtoCAD, and SketchPup modeling.

Guapo earned his pedigree in barkitecture and dabbled in landscraping.

Outside of the studio, he enjoys exploring the sights, sounds, and smells of Los Angeles with his human parents and fur siblings.
